Royal Gorge Bridge Park

While I was in Colorado, I had a day to explore a little.  And after much searching, I decided to go see the Royal Gorge Bridge Park.  It was an hour and a half away from Colorado Springs.  But due to me not paying attention to the Maps on my rental car, I missed several turn offs and it took me two and a half hours.  You see, I rented a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.  I have a Jeep Wrangler at home.  And it was the same price as a smaller car.  So I went for it.  But the problem I found, was there was no sound with the Map System they had in the Jeep.  So I can to constantly watch the Map on the display on the Dash Panel.  And well, I wasn't very good at that.  I needed the lady to talk to me.  lol The Royal Gorge is a canyon of the Arkansas River.  It is one of the deepest canyons in Colorado.  It is also known as the Grand Canyon of the Arkansas River.   Cost to get into the Park is $37 and includes the Bridge, ...

Alexandra Kay

When I found out about the divorce, I heard about this Country Music Artist named, Alexandra Kay.  She went through a divorce herself and wrote a whole album about her experiences.  It became my staple when listening to music.  I could not get enough.  I connected with her and her music.  Although there was one vast difference, she left her husband where mine left me.   One day, she posted that she was going on tour again.  She was going to Colorado Springs.  That was the closest thing to Salt Lake City.  I tossed around the idea of going out there.  And when it came time for tickets to go on sale, I bought that concert ticket.  Then I booked my flight, car rental and hotel.  I could not believe I was going to this.  I guess that is one thing about being divorced.  I decide what I am going to do and when.  And I decided just to do it.  (kind of similar to my Germany trip I took in February).   I have wo...

My First Date after Divorce

OK, so it happened!  I went on my first date since the divorce.  Let me tell you, I was so nervous.  I didn't know what to expect.  I went into it being just me.  When I talk about people here on my blog, I will just use first initials instead of names.  Just FYI. So I met B on a dating app called Our Time.  He lives in Idaho and works here in Utah.  He had asked me out several times before and I always laughed it off.  When he finally asked me again, I do not know why I said yes, but I did.  I was so surprised that happened.  We were going on a lunch date during his work day, and it was my day off.  We went out to Mexican Food.  One of my favorite places, La Hacienda.  We had a great flow of conversations the whole time.  It was easy.  And I was just me.  When we left, we decided we would still text each other.  And it has now been two weeks and we do still text.  He has traveled throug...

Dating After Divorce

I never dreamed when I got married more than 30 years ago, that I would enter the dating world again.  I was married for 30 years when my divorce was finalized.  That means my last first date was more than 31 years ago.  How does one start dating again? When my Ex told me he was leaving and filing for divorce, I had a daughter ask me just a few weeks later if I would ever remarry.  The thought was not on my mind.  And my answer was, "I just want to enjoy my freedom for a little while before I worry about that".   Then that same daughter started talking to me about dating sites.  I should look into them.  I brushed her off.  But little by little I started looking into them.  I even made a profile without saying anything to anyone.  I kept it to myself but started corresponding to men.  I was not interested but I also just wanted to see what was out there.  I had been asked out several times.  But I always laughed...

It's Tax Day!

Thank Heavens!  Tax day is here.  I just want it over with so I don't have to worry about it anymore nor do I have to be bombarded with emails and texts.  This day reminds me of Election time.  I remember one time I told my Ex while we were married, I couldn't wait for the Elections to be over.  Because then all the signs would be gone from all over the cities, the ads would stop playing on the TV's and Radio and all the phone calls would stop.  Well, this is similar in my mind. Let me explain.  I had a job before the hospital.  I worked with a Non Profit Organization where we did fundraising by bringing people into work the NBA Basketball games.  In return, the venue would pay the non profit a certain amount of money for each person we brought in.  We in turn would turn around and pay people a certain amount of money for going in and working.  Those people are considered self contractors and filled out W9 forms and received a...

Renting out a Room

As you know, I work in Healthcare at a Hospital.  There are lots of Healthcare workers who travel.  They usually have 13 week contracts and then move to another place to work.  They get paid nicely for traveling.  Well, I started getting my house ready to rent out a room to a traveling Healthcare worker.  I took my daughters old room.  And I added a few things to make it nicer.  Starting with a bed frame.  Her bed used to just sit on the floor.  I added Night Stands, a desk, Roku to the TV that is mounted on the wall.  I also added a mini fridge, Microwave, Coffee Pot, Toaster all on a bakers rack.  And I added pictures to the walls.  It really looks so nice.  I bought new bedding for the bed as well plus new towels.   Last night, we had our first traveling Scrub Tech move in.  I am hopeful this will be a good experience.  And I have one more room in my house that I am almost done getting ready to rent out a...

Last Minute Trip to Germany

As I reflect on what I have done so far this year, trying to catch my blog up to current times, I will be repeating what some people already know.  But with the blog comes details that a Reel or a post on Instagram does not give.   As I mentioned, I work at a Hospital.  Not any hospital.  But a brand new Childrens Hospital.  We put in many long hours getting everything ready for it to open.  I was training at one Hospital until the new one was ready.  I got hired on December 4, 2023.  And the new Hospital opened on February 12, 2024.  I was the last of the group to get hired.  So I was a few months behind everyone else when it comes to knowledge of the job.  While they were all over at the new hospital getting things done, I stayed at the other one to continue to learn.  While training, I was working Monday - Friday 8am -4:30pm.  But that is not what I was hired for.  I work three 12 and 1/2 hour shifts.  ...
